My grandson came to me one day and asked me what I was keeping in the big box near my bed. I told him that they contained some important things which I collected in all these years of my life. I asked him if he wanted to have a look at them. He was very excited and offered to help me open the box. In the box there were different Scrapbooks, photo albums and souvenirs which I valued very much. I then told my grandson that these were the memories which I have with me of my childhood and younger days. I showed him the pictures of my childhood days and he kept saying that I looked different when I was young. It felt very nice to share my memories with my grandson. I felt that I was reliving my past. Images of past friends and family members came before my eyes and they became moist with tears. My grandson sensed that I was getting emotional so he kept all the things back in the box and promised me that we would see them again later. |

I have a LinkedIn account, as well as a facebook account, but do I really use them? Hardly. For me a social media tool like LinkedIn is more a digital phone book or memo than anything else. I can type in keywords like graphic design companies london and find providers near me - but that's about it. It somehow just seems to much of a fuss to go through all the options in there. I accept requests from old friends or acquaintances, but I'm never really active on either of them. I think it works very well for some and could also be quite useful, but only if they keep investing time in it, keep it up to date. There are so many social media circles around now that one seems to easily get drowned by them, unless you are completely hooked on them. I vote for neither and stay afloat. Call me old fashioned but I still like to get to know about people by simply sitting down and talking with them. Although my main business is the IT-world |
